Lesson Learned

Breast cancer isn't all bad. I mean, yes, it is all bad, but there are some cool things I've learned along the way.

1. The voice of a friend you haven't heard from in years is the coolest sound you will ever hear.
2. Bunnies with beer hats rock.
3. Friends and family *might* cook better then me.
4. It doesn't matter how many channels you have, daytime TV sucks.
5. A basket of fresh, warm, homemade rolls relieves certain types of pain better then any drug out there.
6. Dogs really do just sleep all day. Then bark at imaginary robbers. Then sleep again.
7. You learn, every day, about the strong ties that bind families, and never sever, never break.

Today conspired to have the coolest things happen to me. My uncle made me smile, from all the way across the country. An old friend called. A newer friend stopped by. And I received a package that made me laugh harder then I have laughed in weeks. My body may be in battle mode, but I have so much support it humbles me. And a heckuva cheering section. I can't pay back what everyone does for me, but I appreciate and love all of you from the deepest part of my heart.

  1. Hey cuz! You are amazing and strong and I know you have lots of support so don't play the tough guy and when you need it use the support - me included, you don't have to do this alone and I love your attitude! The Taxotere/Cytoxin for me was a cake walk so I am glad that it is the poison of choice - I will pray that you also have few to zero side effects from this drug - some people do and some people don't lose their hair so maybe.... not! I wish so badly that I was in Denver and even though I'm only an hour away it feels like the other side of the country at times! Remember to think of those Pacman guys chewing up any wandering cancer cells - they are doomed! Talk to you soon - love you tons! And you are still Fabulous and Forty! Bald or not! Colleen
